Aruba Marriott Resort |

Let me preface this blog post by stating that here in HOT-lanta we’re expecting between one and two inches of snow (and unfortunately there’s some ice thrown in the mix). While this does give me a great reason to sip on a spiked hot chocolate or hot toddy as I watch plump snowflakes fall from the comfort of my own home, I have to say that I’d much rather be sipping on a tropics-inspired beverage somewhere in the Caribbean (preferably Jamaica…just saying).

If you’re like me and a trip to an island boasting turquoise waters and white sand beaches isn’t quite in the near future then you can always whip yourself up a cocktail that happens to be served at a Caribbean resort. The three cocktails I’ve listed below are served at bars located at resorts in Aruba, St. Kitts, and Anguilla. Enjoy!

You may remember a few weeks back I posted a story on the new adults-only H2Oasis pool at the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. Well, just days ago Lisa D’Amato of “Top Model” fame hosted a plush cocktail party at H2Oasis. While attending the H2Oasis party guests sipped on Aloe Mint Colada’s (yum!) and partied it up to tunes provided by DJ Ivy. And in case you can’t make it to the H2Oasis pool anytime soon I’ve listed the ingredients for the “Aloe Mint Colada” so you can at least pretend that you’re basking in the sun in Aruba while sipping on one.

Aloe Mint Colada

INGREDIENTS

1 Shot Malibu

1/2 Shot Crème de Menthe Green

1 oz Pina Colada Mix

1 oz Aloe Juice

DIRECTIONS

Combine ingredients in a blender with ice and pour into a tall glass.

Pools in paradise, does it really get much better than that? One might think not, but with the opening of Aruba Marriott Resort’s new adults-only H2Oasis pool it’s about to. I’m gonna be really honest with you guys for a second. When I’m on vacation in some tropical country, relaxing in a pool, sipping  on a delicious cocktail do you know what really irks me? When little, five-year-old Billy throws an inflatable volleyball at my head. Definitely a mood killer. Kids are cool, but there’s certain environments where it’s nice to just be with yur fellow adults. H2Oasis is exactly that. It’s an adults-only pool where you won’t have to worry about Billy flicking a booger into your mojito. And from what I’ve heard they’re also serving up some killer cocktails. Here’s a little more information on H2Oasis:

“The new 10,000 square foot adults-only pool and lounge area offers adult guests of the Aruba Marriott Resort respite from ‘family time.’ The area features private cabanas for lounging or receiving professional massages, and supplies plentiful adult libations as well as the occasional DJ party.”

The drink recipe below is just a small sample of what you can expect at H2Oasis. Read more
