Before I go on a mass texting spree in the hopes of figuring out what “the move” is this Fourth of July weekend, I figured it seemed only right to share a handful of Independence Day inspired cocktails with you guys. Below, you’ll find my personal Fourth of July picks from brands including from Belvedere Vodka, Basil Hayden’s, Courvoisier, and more.
Cheers! And be sure to keep safe this weekend. (Remember to keep a bucket of water on hand if you plan on celebrating with your own fireworks. I heard that on the news yesterday and for some odd reason felt compelled to share.)
Oh! One last thing. I plan (emphasis on “plan”) to take part in my first Periscope (live-streaming app) on July 4th (7 to 10 P.M.) at the Georgia Aquarium’s Red, White & Brew event. So, be sure to follow me! Username is @Lushworthy.

In honor of World Martini Day, Belvedere Vodka and Claire Smith, the brand’s Head of Spirit Creation & Mixology, linked up with drink historian/cocktail specialist Anistatia Miller to speak on what they’ve dubbed “the world’s most iconic cocktail.” It only takes one visit to a chain restaurant to see that the martini has morphed into something almost completely different than what it originally was. So, I think it’s pretty cool that Claire and Anistatia dropped a little knowledge for those who may be unfamiliar with the history of the martini. Check out their video below. And if you need a little martini inspiration, I’ve included the recipe to The Classic Belvedere below.
The Classic Belvedere
2 oz/60ml Belvedere Vodka
¼ oz/10ml Lillet Blanc
Twist of pink grapefruit
Combine Belvedere and Lillet in mixing glass and stir over ice until very cold. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a twist of pink grapefruit.

Guests at STK Atlanta found themselves in a sort of winter wonderland at the steakhouse’s one-year anniversary party last night thanks to the occasional indoor snowfall and an ice sculpture that provided attendee’s with a sizable shot of Belvedere Vodka. Quite Lushworthy, right? I had the opportunity to cover the anniversary party and I was honestly taken aback by how amazing the event was. I mean, there was a baby Siberian tiger at STK! A baby tiger! Now that’s how you throw a party folks.
Thanks to the event sponsor, Belvedere Vodka, guests were treated to complimentary cocktails that included the “Strawberry Cobbler,” “Green Intensity,” and “Cucumber Stiletto.” I love a good St. Germain cocktail so I of course tried the “Cucumber Stiletto” (Belvedere, St. Germain, lime juice, and cucumber) first, but my favorite was easily the “Strawberry Cobbler.” The “Strawberry Cobbler” was a simple combination of Belvedere and muddled fresh strawberries, but tasted very much like a decadent dessert in a glass thanks to the graham cracker rim. An assortment of edible bites were also made available to guests and included sliders and various bite-size desserts. Check out a few pictures from STK’s one-year anniversary party below.

The Belve Music Lounge has really been on a roll for the past month or so. First, they hit up South Beach for the Ultra Music Festival and just this past weekend they braved the California desert for the Coachella Music Festival. Belvedere Vodka of course brought back the “Turntable Teabreeze” which first debuted at the Belve Music Lounge in Miami and is made using Belvedere’s newest product, Belvedere Lemon Tea. As if Belvedere’s refreshing cocktails weren’t enough guests of the lounge which included everyone from Joy Bryant to Theophilus London also received products from SOL Republic, Reebok, and clothing company Motel Rocks.
As expected it looks like the Belve Music Lounge, which took place last month in Miami during the Ultra Music Festival, was quite the good time. A number of celebrities stopped through the W South Beach to get their drink and dance on including Bravo’s Andy Cohn, DJ/producer Steve Aoki, Dennis Rodman, and more. Stay tuned for news on the other music festivals the Belve Music Lounge will be invading this year.
