It’s that time again Atlanta. It looks like we’ll soon be welcoming yet another new restaurant to the city. This latest restaurant, Big Kahuna, comes courtesy of a duo of talent behind the likes of Twisted Taco and The Havana Club and will feature “classic Southern California, Baja fresh and American food prepared with a coastal flair.” I’m sure Big Kahuna will be serving up a bevy of SoCal-inspired edible treats, but let’s move on to the more Lushworthy side of what’s soon to be one of Atlanta’s newest culinary additions.
I was able to get my hands on the drink menu for Big Kahuna and it’s pretty extensive thanks to a combination of Signature Cocktails, Mules, Surf-Tinis, Margaritas, Beers, and Wine. Here’s just a handful of the cocktails that stood out the most to me.
Tattooed – Sailor Jerry Rum, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, dash of pineapple juice.
Strawberry Blonde – Smirnoff strawberry vodka, champagne, pineapple juice, and strawberry puree.
Caramel Macchiato – Salted caramel vodka, Bulleit Bourbon, Kahlua, and cream.
West Coast Mule – Crown Royal Black, ginger beer, and lime.
Strawberry Smash – Kettle One Vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, fresh strawberries, jalapeno slice, and basil leaves. (Pictured above)
If for whatever odd reason none of the cocktails above tickled your fancy then trust me, you’ve got plenty of other cocktail options to choose from. Also, on the more edible side of things, Big Kahuna will offer a variety of hearty burgers, fresh seafood, and savory tacos.
You can expect Big Kahuna to open its doors in downtown Atlanta either at the end of this month or the top of February. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Big Kahuna Facebook page.
