Last night (December 12), Atlanta’s fashion elite gathered at the W Buckhead’s Whiskey Blue to toast to the various designers taking part in the CFDA’s (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Incubator program. Described as being “designed to support the next generation of fashion designers in New York City,” the Fashion Incubator program hit the road to showcase pieces from Burkman Bros., Emanuela Duca, Daniel Vosovic, and WHIT.
Now I love fashion, but I love cocktails a tad more and at the cocktail party they were of course serving up a signature cocktail which was Whiskey Blue’s “French Lace.” I have to give Whiskey Blue their props on this one, the “French Lace” is quite the looker. The edible flower placed atop the drink will certainly warrant a few Ooo’s and Ahh’s and the combination of Hpnotiq Harmonie, St. Germain, and champagne is very much on the flavorful side. It’s definitely more of a spring/summer drink, but it was nice being reminded of those beloved summery drinks. And since the majority of the clothing featured by the designers was geared towards spring/summer it seemed pretty fitting.
If the “harmonious” blend of Hpnotiq Harmonie, St. Germain, and champagne has peaked your interest then I’ve gone ahead and included the drink recipe for the “French Lace” below in case you want to indulge in this Whiskey Blue favorite. You can also find a few of my favorite looks from the designer showcase in the gallery below.
2 oz Hypnotiq Harmonie
1 oz St Germain
1 oz fresh lemon
Top with Champagne
Shake Harmonie, St Germain, and lemon over ice. Strain into martini glass, top with champagne. Garnish with edible flower.
