You guys jamming to Beyonce and JAY-Z’s Everything Is Love yet? I’m currently silently turning up in the library to “Nice” as I type this. The music powerhouse dropped their first ever joint album over the weekend as they tour overseas. And speaking of tours, it’s only a matter of weeks before Jay and Bey head back to the states to kick off the U.S. leg of their On The Run II Tour. And if, like me, your On The Run II tickets are but a figment of your imagination, D’USSE has shared the recipe to two of the cocktails served backstage to VIPs during the tour. So, we can at least sip like Jay and Bey as we indulge in a D’USSE & Lemonade or The 13th. Check out the recipes below, cheers!
D’USSÉ & Lemonade
D’USSE VSOP Lemonade
Add 1 1/2 parts D’USSE VSOP and 2 parts lemonade into an ice filled highball glass. Garnish with lime.
D’USSE VSOP Fresh Lime Juice Simple Syrup Ginger Beer

On Mother’s Day, it was free mimosas. And now for Father’s Day, Ibotta is offering a free beer to its users, during the Father’s Day weekend. Ibotta is a cash back app, so the beer doesn’t become free until after you’ve purchased your brew and submitted your receipt in the app. Don’t you go quitting on me! As a frequent user of Ibotta, I can assure you that it is a very simple process and it’s well worth it. Here’s all you need to do to score your free beer:
“To cash in on the 24-hour offer, all folks have to do is download the free Ibotta app, choose the ‘Hops for Pops’ rebate in the ‘Any restaurant or bar’ category, then order their preferred brew at their favorite bar or restaurant on Sunday, June 17. Upload the receipt through the app, and voilà, $5 will be deposited back in users’ Ibotta accounts.”
The rebate is up to $5, and the cool thing with Ibotta is the free beer rebate is for any restaurant/bar. So, if your favorite watering hole is slinging brews for $3 on Father’s Day…congratulations, you just made an extra $2. Also, if you’re a new Ibotta user, they typically provide a $5 bonus when you sign up and redeem your first cash back offer. So. Much. Winning.
As someone who’s gradually fallen for craft beer, the idea of swapping a pina colada for an ice-cold IPA while on vacation is increasingly more alluring these days. Given that craft beer continues to gain popularity, hotels across the U.S. and abroad are taking note. While an on-premise brewery may be a bit much for most hotels, a few of them have instead chosen to partner with craft beer brands to create their signature brews. Among those hotels are the Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa in Costa Rica and The Perry Hotel Key West at Stock Island Marina. Read all about what’s on tap at these hotels, below.
Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa – Craft beer in Costa Rica? Count me all the way in. For its craft beer, Tabacón has linked with local brewery 5inco Amigos Cervecería to create their IPAva brew. With this particular brew, you can expect wild flavors and tropical aromas inspired by the resort’s thermal springs and the rainforest it’s located on. As a boozy bonus, if you happen to be staying at the Tabacón during World Cup, the resort will give guests of drinking age a complimentary bottle of IPAva when Costa Rica scores a goal.
The Perry Hotel Key West at Stock Island Marina – If you don’t want to travel all the way to a rainforest in Costa Rica, you can get your craft-beer-while-on-vacay fix at The Perry Hotel in Key West. The hotel recently teamed with Brew Detroit for its three, signature craft beers: Boat Dog Lager, Stock Rock Wheat Ale, and Shrimp Road APA. Guests can find all three beers available on draft at the hotel.
The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, one of my favorite food/drink events in the city, is taking place this week and I couldn’t be more excited. The festival takes place from Thursday to Sunday (May 31 – June 3) and features chefs, mixologists, and other talent from the Southeast. For newbies and even seasoned veterans, it can be a lot to take in, especially if you’re attending at least three days of the festival. So, to help you guys out a bit I’ve created a list of the fest’s most Lushworthy events. I created a graphic, which you can find below and also on my Instagram page. Cheers!
Rosé, the blush-colored wine highly popular among millennials, is continuing to be a boozy powerhouse. This year alone, we were introduced to rosé hard cider and rosé vodka (courtesy of Three Olives Vodka). For lovers of rosé and tequila, Codigo Tequila has combined qualities of both to create their Rosa Tequila. Similar to rosé, Codigo’s Rosa Tequila boasts a pinkish color and floral notes. There’s also a wine element given that the tequila is aged in “the finest Napa Cabernet French White Oak barrels.”
I had the opportunity to sample Codigo’s Rosa Tequila, during a tequila dinner hosted by Kwame of AskKwame.com at Atlanta’s Agave. The Rosa Tequila was our last sip for the evening and it was paired with a dark chocolate ganache candy bar topped with agave nectar whipped cream. (Side Note: You need agave nectar whipped cream in your life ASAP)
For me, the Rosa Tequila is a lot when sipped on it’s own. Despite having the characteristics of a rosé, at the end of the day it is still a tequila. And it’s just as strong as you’d expect a 40% Alc. Vol. spirit to be. It did pair really well with the sweetness of the dark chocolate ganache though and I’m certain that Codigo’s Rosa Tequila would make for some fun cocktails.
All in all, I’d say the Rosa Tequila is definitely worth trying if you’re a lover of rosé. Just have a cocktail idea ready, if sipping tequila straight up isn’t your thing.
