Lushworthy Pics: A Bevy Of Bourbon & “Punch Kings” Take Center Stage At Cochon 555 In Atlanta

The culinary competition known as Cochon 555 is of course known for its savory, porktastic eats, but on top of that aspect the event also features plenty of wine, bourbon, and cocktails. I definitely had my fill of tasty treats while at Cochon 555 in Atlanta this past weekend, but my radar was of course locked on the bourbon samples, vino, and “Punch Kings” competition.

I have to admit that I was a little bummed that I only had the opportunity to sample about three out of the six punches in the “Punch Kings” competition and even then we’re talking bottom of the punch bowl stuff. But you can tell that everyone put a ton of creativity and hard work into their cocktails and the competition was a very welcomed addition to Cochon 555. The winner of the “Punch Kings” competition was Trip Sandifer of The Spence and I actually did have the opportunity to try out his punch. It was a pretty small sample so I can’t give you guys a full review, but it was tasty.

Aside from the “Punch Kings” competition, another Cochon 555 favorite was the Four Roses Bourbon table where they were serving up the delicious “Harsenville Cooler” that’s made using Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon, honey syrup, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, and Angostura bitters. The miniature Templeton Rye bar, manned by Tom McGuire of Prohibition/Seven Lamps, was also a welcomed site.

I swear I plan on purchasing a real camera in the near future, but in the meantime here’s a few shots I took with my Samsung Galaxy.
