To celebrate the launch of Grey Goose Cherry Noir, the folks at Grey Goose headed down to Atlanta last week for an exclusive party at The W Buckhead. The event was hosted by singer Monica as well as Grey Goose national influencer Kenny Burns and the cocktails were of course plentiful. On top of an interesting bar (partially pictured above) where you could create your own unique cocktail using numerous ingredients, Grey Goose also had two other bars setup where you could try one of three signature cocktails including the “Cherry Collins,” “Cherry Moon,” and “Midnight Martinez.” I was only able to try out the “Cherry Collins” and “Cherry Moon” so here’s my two cents on those cocktails.
As much as it hurts my heart to say this I have to say that the mixologists over at Grey Goose have some explaining to do when it comes to the “Cherry Collins.” Talk about tart! The recipe calls for 3/4 parts fresh-squeezed lemon juice, but they may want to consider turning that into a mere splash of lemon juice. It was like a Lemonhead for cocktail lovers!
Now this cocktail was a lot more enjoyable. And I kind of like the fact that aside from the Grey Goose Cherry Noir the only other ingredients are lemon-lime soda and grenadine. So this is one cocktail you can easily whip up yourself or have made at your local bar.
