Upon walking into Target yesterday, I immediately locked eyes on a tank top that read: “You Had Me At Pumpkin Spice.” [Sigh] The leaves have yet to hit the ground and already pumpkin spice is invading coffee shops and big-name retailers across the nation. And with news of Captain Morgan’s pumpkin-inspired, Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast, pumpkin spice has now entered the world of booze.
Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast is described as “a fall-inspired shot that blends Caribbean rum with favorite seasonal flavors – including fresh pumpkin, cinnamon and other autumnal spices.” I’m not gonna lie, I’m curious. And from the description, it sounds like the latest from Captain Morgan could mix really well with Baileys Pumpkin Spice (or similar).
With the news of their latest flavor, the folks over at Captain Morgan have concocted the fall-friendly, Apple Jack-O cocktail, which sounds like a win. You can find the full recipe, below.
Also, the limited-edition Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast can be purchased for $15.99 (750 ml bottle). Cheers!
1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Jack-O’Blast
4 oz. chilled apple cider
Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice, stir and serve.
I’m sure the pumpkin-obsessed are just counting down the days until fall starts. In only a matter of weeks, you’ll be able to sip on your pumpkin-nutmeg chai latte while nibbling on a pumpkin-brown butter cookie, with zero guilt. In all honesty though, who says you have to wait until September 22 to indulge in all things pumpkin? Absolutely no one! There are some amazing, pumpkin cocktails out there that are still summer-friendly. To hold you over before fall, I’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of the best, so you can live your pumpkin-loving life to the fullest. Cheers!
Pumpkin Pie White Russian – It only makes sense to start off with a cocktail I made for Lushworthy almost two years ago. Although it was created smack dab in the middle of fall, it’s still a great, dessert-y cocktail to enjoy as late summer nears. [Recipe – Lushworthy.com]
Smashing Pumpkin – Rum is my absolute favorite spring/summer spirit, and this cocktail is made using just that. With the addition of homemade lemon-pumpkin soda, the Smashing Pumpkin is one of few pumpkin cocktails that’s also refreshing. [Recipe – Liquor.com]
Now I’m not a big fan of pumpkin anything, but this Sauza Tequila “Pumpkin Spice Tequila Cocktail” sounds way too good to pass up. The folks over at Sauza seem to have a knack for creating unique drink recipes and the “Pumpkin Spice Tequila Cocktail” is a great example of their flair for creativity. And with those cooler temperatures settling in Sauza’s latest cocktail is a nice transition from those refreshing, fruity cocktails prominent during the summer months.
