In honor of their partnership with The Give A Damn Campaign, Van Gogh Vodka will soon give away a trip for two to New York City this December thanks to their Give A Damn Sweepstake. All you have to do to enter the contest is head over to the Van Gogh Vodka Facebook page and click on the sweepstake icon. On top of roundtrip airfare and two nights hotel accommodations, the winner will also receive tickets to Cyndi Lauper’s “Home For The Holidays” concert and after-party.

Launched in 2010, The Give A Damn Campaign was created “to inspire straight people to ‘give a damn’ about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.” As an added perk, for every person to enter the Give A Damn Sweepstake, Van Gogh Vodka will donate $1 to The Give A Damn Campaign.

Although we still have a little less than a month before summer begins, for most of us Memorial Day weekend signifies the unofficial start of the summer season. And with that unofficial start you can expect plenty of people to break out the grills, a few seasonal cocktails, and other summer pleasantries this weekend. If you’re still in the market for a great cocktail or two for your Memorial Day festivities, I’ve compiled a list of six drink recipe ideas that come courtesy of Captain Morgan, SKYY Infusions, and more, and range from the pretty standard to the enticingly intricate.

Be sure to have an enjoyable and safe weekend and let’s try not to forget about the the men and women who lost their lives in the Armed Forces because that’s in fact what Memorial Day really is all about.

2 oz. SKYY Infusions Moscato Grape 3.4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice 3.4 oz. Orgeat Syrup

1 small slice of Serrano pepper, seeds on

In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle Serrano slice in Orgeat. Add rest of the ingredients. Shake and finely strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an edible orchid.

If you happen to hate Valentine’s Day, that is fully understandable, but instead of punching pillows all day or throwing pictures and various other memento’s of your ex into a fireplace, why not enjoy a cocktail or two? While there are plenty of cocktails dedicated to Valentine’s Day there’s also plenty of drink recipes that are a little more anti-Valentine’s Day friendly. Take for instance EFFEN Vodka’s “EFFEN Bitter Truth,” that name alone just screams “Valentine’s Day is for chumps.” And if you’re hoping to make the holiday a little more relaxing there’s also Van Gogh Vodka’s “Dutch Tea” which is a decadent combination of Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka, tea, heavy cream, and sugar.

Personally, I think that if you’re without a boo on V-Day you should celebrate the holiday with friends and EFFEN Vodka’s “Toast Of The Town” is ideal for that kind of occasion. 4 oz. Prepared Numi Chocolate Pu-erh Tea 2 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka 1 oz. Heavy Cream



Steep one Numi Chocolate Pu-erh tea bag at normal strength with freshly boiled water for three minutes, then remove bag. Add Vodka and stir. Whip cream with a little sugar and float on top. Dust with Powdered Cocoa to garnish.

If you’re a fan of the decadently sweet and warming beverage that is hot chocolate then there’s a good chance that you first fell in love with the drink at a pretty young age. And with National Hot Chocolate Day taking place on January 31 you owe it to yourself to enjoy this childhood favorite in a more adult fashion with Van Gogh Vodka’s “Dutch Hot Chocolate.” A relatively simple drink recipe, the brand’s “Dutch Hot Chocolate” recipe calls for hot chocolate, Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka, and of course a few roasted marshmallows. 2 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka 4 oz. hot chocolate

3 roasted marshmallows on small skewer


Pour Van Gogh Dutch Hot Chocolate into a warm mug and add hot chocolate. Garnish with home-roasted marshmallows on a skewer or whipped cream.

When it comes to the flavors of the season, it seems that mint is somehow overlooked especially when it comes to cocktails. Well, prepare to have your minty fix thanks to Van Gogh Vodka’s “Candy Cane Lane” cocktail. The “Candy Cane Lane” is made using Van Gogh Blue Vodka and the mint flavor for this particular drink comes with the addition of White Crème de Menthe and Peppermint Schnapps. I’m personally not a huge peppermint fan, but this Lushworthy offering from Van Gogh Vodka might just make this peppermint pessimist a believer.


2-1/2 oz Van Gogh Blue Vodka

1 oz White crème de menthe

1/2 oz Peppermint schnapps


Splash of Grenadine

Peppermint candy for garnish


Add a dash of grenadine into the bottom of a chilled martini glass and set aside.  Pour the rest of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into the glass with grenadine to create a “swirl” effect.  Garnish with peppermint candy.

No matter which country you may root for, The Olympics truly is an amazing experience and one of few that has the power to bring the entire world together. So it only makes sense that an event that momentous should truly be celebrated with a great cocktail. It should come as no surprise that some of the top brands have been hard at work whipping up Olympic-themed cocktails for the festivities. Feeling extra celebratory? ¾ oz Simple Syrup

4 oz Republic of Tea Mango Black Tea


Build drink in a tall glass and garnish with Dried Mango.
